    Technical papers

    Papers should describe original and unpublished work on the topics of the conference. Prospective authors should prepare a full paper, written in English, between 8 and 12 pages and must submit it electronically. The accepted papers will be published in Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) with Springer. Therefore, submissions must obey to the format of the publisher. Detailed author instructions can be found here.

    Each paper will be blind-reviewed by at least two reviewers and will be accepted based on its originality, significance and clarity. For accepted papers to be published, at least one author has to register and present the work at the conference.

    The topics of interest include but not limited to the SCOPE of the conference.

    Clinical abstracts

    The submission is still open for clinical abstracts. All clinical abstracts may now be submitted to the conference by emailing them to miua2018@soton.ac.uk.

    Submitted abstracts should fit on one A4 page. Calibri font with minimum font size of 11 is preferred. The page margins should be no less than 1 cm on left and right hand sides and no less than 2 cm on top and bottom. However, if the abstract contains figure(s) and/or table(s), it needs to be sent in Microsoft Word 2013 format.

    The abstract page should contain: Title, Authors and Affiliations, Introduction (i.e. Background and Purpose), Methods, Results, Discussion (or Conclusion), References and Acknowledgements if any. Tables and Figures are optional, and can be included as long as they fit within the page.


    Special issue in the Journal of Imaging

    Selected papers will be invited to extend their content for being considered for publication in an special issue in the Journal of Imaging.

    The instructions are as follows:
    (1) The content of the original paper should be expanded at least 40%;
    (2) The conference paper should be cited, not reproduced;
    (3) Authors are asked to disclose that it is conference paper in their cover letter and include a statement on what has been changed compared to the original conference paper.
